There are many ways in which creating a film opening could be made. The result of how successful they are though is down to a few features that must be planned far in advance to ensure that is using characterises that fit well with not only the setting but also the genre of the film, that helps to create mood and atmosphere the audience can experience.
TRAINSPOTTING
One example of a film opening with a very good opening shot is trainspotting. Through looking at this shot it shows a close of the boy running away from the camera. This also showing that it is a tracking shot as it is following the character through the street as he is running away from people. It is clear for the audience to see that or some reason he is running away from something that he hay have done wrong, is trying to get away from or is trying to hide from. To the audience the close up of his feet shows the speed in which he is running and this helps to increase the tension and add to the mood and the atmosphere of the film opening. This shot also shows that in editing and cinematography there is clearly a filter so certain key lighting, and fillers that have purposefully been put the way they have. The scene is fairly grey and dull and because of that it shows that to the red shows, there is a bright vivid contrast.
TITANIC

Another example is in the opening of the titanic film. In this shot it shows a long shot and also a mid sot. It is taken at an angle which shows not only how long the boat is but also how wide it is. This helps to not exaggerate, but emphasise the fact that the boat was so big and could therefor hold a lot of items, and people, which what made the destruction and impact so devastating. In cinematography it show that there is a Sepia effect that has been put onto a few of the clips at the beginning of this film. This helps to express the fact that although it I a dated thing, it is still a very serious and important topic in history of the past.
THE SHINING
In the beginning of this film and in this particular shot, t shows the camera, using a tracking shot, going over a lot of idyllic and beautiful scenery. This however to the rest of the film is a very strong contrast as the film is actually a horror movie. The beginning makes it seem well within everyone's comfort zone, but later on within the film, we find out it is a horror movie, that isn't so much gory but instead messes with your mind mentally. The fact that there are no cars or people in the beginning of this film however, suggests the fact that there is a lot of loneliness and isolation that could then make more sense when people find out hat it is horror movie.
