Nine frames analysis
TRAINSPOTTING
From observing these nine individual frames, there is a clear visual as
to the narrative of the story. The use of a syringe (Mise en
scene) ideally indicating injecting drugs shows a strong
genre and depicts an image of young men. The majority of the shots
that are taken are either close ups or are mid shots (Cinematography) ,
including a lot of facial expressions which help to expand on the anger,
aggression and violence of the film which is possibly influenced by the drugs.
The use of colour, shows a high saturation of colours and are very vivid.
This, to the audience shows that compared to other films, it could be a very
upbeat and drama filled film.
In three of the shots, it shows that he is accompanied by 3-4 other men,
proving he is not isolated or alone. This could show that he is part of a gang
and that they could be from a rough background. The fact that their are
multiple boys of similar ages could show that they have done drugs various
times and that it could have lead to an addiction.
